Description

Your password generator works great. I need to figure out how to actually see the eBay password that is generated by my master password as I need to supply it to PayPal. eBay has so many domains I can't figure out which one to use. I changed my password in my preferences on ebay with the generator and it works fine on eBay but when I use your form to see the password apparently I'm not using the right url because the generated password will not then work on eBay. Can you help me with the correct url on eBay when I change my password using your generator? I have changed my password back so I'm ok but I like having only the master passord. Thanks Howard

I'm really not following you here. I use this extension along with eBay and PayPal with no problem.

  • I'm not aware of anywhere that the password is shared across the two sites.
  • I'm not aware of anywhere that is "eBay" that is not "eBay.com" (or .de or whatever local version you use, it's always within that domain).

If you are confused, this extension intentionally uses only the top level domain. It does not use "my.ebay.com" or "cgi.ebay.com" it always uses just "ebay.com" for precisely this reason.

That said, if you still can't figure it out, you can use this to see the password put in an actual page:  https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#view_passwords

Dear developer,

It's none of my business, so I probably shouldn't butt in here, but I think I know what this user is talking about, so...

Anyway, the problem seems to be that the user does not realize that if they visit www.ebay.com they will have the exact same user ID and password if they also visit www.ebay.com.au or www.ebay.co.uk etc.

All they need to do is use the SAME user ID and password for all eBay "domains".

Regards,

equi

That is not the problem, because that is not true. Try it out. Use the extension itself or go quickly:

The critical phrase seems, to me, to be "I need to supply it to PayPal". Like I said, I don't see how that could be true, but I explained how to solve that already.
