moving the tinymenu

Reported by: mai9 Owned by: t-bone

Description

I wanted to use your extension in thunderbird, but I can't hide the menubar or move the tiny menu to the toolbar. Although I put this on minor priority, your extension is really of no use if the menubar and toolbar still use horizontal space. I installed your extension to remove the menubar and have more vertical space to read emails.

My suggestion is to make the tiny menu movable from the menubar to the toolbar, and then add an option to hide the menu bar.

Based on the way this extension works, the menu itself will never be mobile.

If you read the documentation, however, you will see this is perfectly possible: http://trac.arantius.com/wiki/Projects/Tiny%20Menu#HowdoImakeitlooklikethescreenshot

I now see that Thunderbird doesn't give the option to hide the (button) toolbar like Firefox does. I'd suggest this is a bug with Thunderbird, but can be overcome with userContent.css:

toolbar#mail-bar { display: none !important; }

in that page you can put a link to the screenshot, otherwise when you quote it I don't know what screenshot you're talking about.

If thunderbird developers didn't allow to hide toolbars in first place, I don't think they'll implement it because one extension has problems.

And thanks for the userContent.css userChrome.css trick, but I still think this extension should provide a way to hide that menubar in thunderbird. my 2 cents.

the first sentence isn't very clear. What I wanted to suggest is to put a link in the question "how do I make it look like the screenshot" to the page where the screenshot is.

Thanks for pointing out that typo. Instructions on the documentation page have been updated.

Also, reported the bug, we'll see what happens if anything:  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363461

another thing, the menu in the compose window in thunderbird shows the menu as normal, without compacting it.

One issue per ticket. Replying to a closed ticket with a completely different issue will get you nowhere.

it's the same issue, your extension does not work correctly in thunderbird.
